I'm currently writing the final two tales for 'THE BEAUTIFUL RED', both of which will be original to the collection. The first is a long tale entitled 'EIGHT SMALL MEN' and the other is a shorter piece entitled 'LEARNING TO LIVE IN A PRETTY LITTLE TOWN'.
'SCREAM WHEN YOU HEAR YOURSELF SCREAM' will have to find a home in the next collection!

'MY SECRET CHILDREN' has been accepted by Andy Cox, editor of Black Static, and will appear in issue 13 of the magazine.
Andy said of the story: "I think this is seriously good. In fact, it's breakthrough good, buy-the-film-rights good. I had to keep reminding myself to breathe. Or I was having a minor heart attack...All boils down to the same thing: brilliant."
Made my day.

Currently working on a new story entitled 'MY SECRET CHILDREN' which will be included in my forthcoming collection, THE BEAUTIFUL RED.
This story will be followed almost immediately by a longer tale provisionally entitled 'SCREAM WHEN YOU HEAR YOURSELF SCREAM'.
Both tales will continue exploring the new collection's recurring theme of dysfunctional families and the often flawed relationship between parents and children.

I'm delighted to finally be able to announce that I've sold my novella, 'TERRA DAMNATA', to Pete Crowther at PS Publishing, arguably the finest independent publisher in the world. Publication date is likely to be late 2010, so plenty of time to start saving. No excuses.

Advance notice of a few things for the interested few:
'THE FAMILY FACE' (7,700 words) will be appearing in the next issue (18) of the excellent 'Postscripts'.
'BECAUSE YOUR BLOOD IS DARKER THAN MINE' (7,300 words) will be appearing in the next issue (10) of the stunning 'Black Static' magazine.
'THE FARMER'S WIFE' (8,400 words) will be appearing in a future issue of 'Postscripts'.
My second collection (more of which later in the year!) will be appearing late '09/early'10. Not all of the above tales will feature, though, so now might be as good a time as any to subscribe to both magazines.
